Penten announces new appointments to its senior leadership team. Matthew Wilson, Penten Chief Executive Officer, said ‘with the defence and security climate moving rapidly, particularly in cyber, Penten is determined to ensure we have the best talent in place to realise our very significant growth opportunities in Australia and offshore. I’m delighted to announce two new senior appointments to the Penten Executive Leadership Team.’
Andrew Buttsworth has joined Penten in the role of General Manager, Growth, Marketing and Corporate Affairs. A graduate of the Australian Defence Force Academy, Andrew followed his RAAF fast-jet flying career with appointments as Senior Capability Adviser and Chief of Staff to Defence Minister the Hon Robert Hill AC. Post-politics Andrew worked in senior roles at Westpac, including Head of Institutional Banking and Federal Government Business in Canberra. Most recently he has led the creation, scale-up and exit of fintech payments and digital marketplace businesses in the health and disability sectors.
Andrew said “after a few years away from Defence, the opportunity to join Penten was irresistible. This company brings together incredibly talented people to create amazing technology aimed at delivering large scale impact for warfighters and operators in Australia and our five-eyes partners. I’m particularly excited at the growth opportunities presented following the DSR and AUKUS announcements, and I look forward to engaging with colleagues old and new across the industry”
Mr Wilson also announced that Ms Ros Tregurtha has joined Penten in the role of General Manager People and Culture. Across an extensive career, Ros has held senior leadership positions in Fairfax and Domain, where she has worked to establish high performance cultures in both large corporate and internal startup business environments.
Ros said ‘people are Penten’s most important asset, and I can’t wait to dive in and help move an already incredible culture forward. I look forward to bringing some lessons from my career to bear on new challenges here!’
Matt Wilson concluded “The Penten Board and I are really excited at these new appointments, particularly the diversity of perspective they bring – blending Defence with insights from high performing startup and corporate organisations outside the Canberra community. Andrew and Ros join a fantastic business with growing operations on two continents, and I look forward to working side by side with them to drive Penten into the future!”
