Whether it’s a bump-in-the-wire voice and position encryptor or a full-featured handheld tactical voice and data terminal, HLX has it covered.
Functionality
How it works?
HLX integrates seamlessly with your existing radios, implementing secure voice, position, and messaging service capability over processed baseband audio. When HLX hardware, such as the HLX5 handheld tactical terminal, is deployed, it can connect with HF and V/UHF radios providing the option to utilise secure digital voice and data communication or use the existing radio networks from line of sight and beyond.

HLX1 In-Line Voice Position Encryptor
HLX1 is a wearable, simple to use in-line secure voice and position encryptor that connects to radio systems as an audio accessory. The HLX1 enables secure digital voice communications and positioning data to be communicated over an existing HF/VHF/UHF radio communications channel.

HLX3 Tactical Voice & Data Encryptor
HLX3 is an in-line secure voice, data and position modem that connects to radio systems as an audio accessory. The HLX3 is designed for use in vehicular mounted applications, enabling situational awareness through the Pronto and Pronto XL through an ethernet connected laptop or tablet device.
The in-built STANAG 4538 modem uplifts legacy radio systems by enabling 3G ALE* communications on HF radio systems. The HLX3’s modem mitigates nuances in manufacturers specific STANAG 4538 implementations that impede 3G ALE waveform interoperability.
The HLX3 system increases situational awareness through integration of the Pronto and Pronto XL situational awareness software. Pronto and Pronto XL enhance situational awareness enabling navigation, location exchange, text messaging, email and radio control functions.

HLX5 Tactical Voice & Data Terminal
HLX5 is a secure voice, data and positioning modem that connects to radio systems as an audio accessory. Designed for man-packable applications the HLX5 enhances capability through its in-built navigation display, text chat, email and secure voice capabilities.
The HLX5 includes a STANAG 4538 modem that uplifts legacy radio systems by enabling 3G ALE* communications on HF radio systems. The internal modem makes the HLX5 a powerful tool for interoperability enabling 3G ALE interoperability foe man-portable HF radio systems.
The HLX5 can be used as a standalone, all-in-one communications terminal or with the full HLX software suite including Pronto and Pronto XL to extend on the HLX5’s capabilities. In-built quick-message fields provide an intuitive means to exchange pre-formatted information between users with differing languages, reducing the impact of language barriers in partner force operations.

HLX7 is a rack mountable modem that provides secure voice, data and position that can connect to radio systems as an audio accessory. HLX7 is designed for use in rack mount environments such as control rooms or on ships or vehicles, enabling integration and interoperability between strategic and tactical communication networks.
Using Pronto and Pronto XL, situational awareness is enhanced through location exchange, text messaging, email and radio control.

Pronto is a situational awareness application that aids commanders in operational theatre visualisation and communication. This software can either be used on a tablet as a self-contained field-portable digital view to the battlefield edge or on a desktop PC in a strategic use case.
