Today, at the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Conference, held at the National Convention Centre, Canberra cyber security companies deception.ai and QuintessenceLabs announced a new partnership to showcase their world leading and locally created technology at the largest cyber security event in the world.

The partnership is an evolution for both companies, taking the very best in decoy technology from deception.ai and applying leading quantum technologies from QuintessenceLabs to create a sophisticated and secure solution to protect global customers from cyber-attack.

The announcement was launched by Robyn Hendry, CEO Canberra Business Chamber.

“The partnership between these two companies, and events, such as the ACSC, highlights the strength of Canberra as a hub to conduct cyber security business,” says Hendry. “It is exciting to see these two businesses working together and demonstrating their world leading innovations at one of the biggest global cyber events.”

The announcement was welcomed by ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr MLA.

The partnership and the ACSC conference are examples of how Canberra is increasingly seen as a destination for cyber businesses. “Canberra’s growing tertiary education industry, as well as our proximity to the Federal Government provides great opportunities for companies like QuintessenceLabs and Penten to grow.” said ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr MLA

The partnership had its conception via AustCyber, Australia’s Cyber Security Growth Network and nurtured through ACT Government initiatives to support innovation and collaboration by cyber security SMEs in the region.

“We are excited to announce a partnership with QuintessenceLabs to push the edges of innovation in cyber security” says Ben Whitham, CEO of deception.ai, a new business unit of cyber innovator, Penten. “Our partnership with QuintessenceLabs enables us to address a significant scientific challenge in this field.”

“We are delighted about this partnership.” Says Vikram Sharma, CEO of QuintessenceLabs, another Canberra based success story in cyber security. “We are looking forward to working together with the team at deception.ai to create a unique solution to overcome a major cyber security issue and we are grateful to Canberra Business Chamber, the ACT Government and AustCyber for supporting this partnership.”

deception.ai and QuintessenceLabs will both be part of the AustCyber activities at the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Conference, held in Canberra over 10-12 Apr.
