Penten’s CEO has been named Co-Chair of the Ai Group Defence Council
Penten is proud to announce that Mr. Greg Barsby, our Chief Executive Officer, has been named Co-Chair of the Ai Group Defence Council, alongside Mr. Paul Chase, Chief Executive of Leidos Australia and Asia.
Penten is proud to announce that Mr. Greg Barsby, our Chief Executive Officer, has been named Co-Chair of the Ai Group Defence Council, alongside Mr. Paul Chase, Chief Executive of Leidos Australia and Asia.
“We extend our congratulations to Mr. Barsby and Mr. Chase on their significant appointments. Ai Group has recently implemented a Co-Chair structure for the Ai Group Defence Council, recognising the pivotal importance of the Chair position and the sector’s growing significance amidst geo-strategic challenges and AUKUS developments,” stated Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the Australian Industry Group.
Greg Barsby joined Penten as CEO in January 2024, bringing nearly three decades of Defence industry experience. As an accomplished leader, he has guided start-ups to global prominence and is well-equipped to drive the Ai Group Defence Council forward during this crucial time for the Australian industry.
“The Ai Group Defence Council is essential to the growth and sustainment of our national defence industry, supporting Australia’s national security and prosperity. I am thrilled to Co-Chair alongside Mr. Chase, representing all levels of the defence industry and collaborating with our defence and national security organisations,” Mr. Barsby remarked.
Paul Chase, who has a 38-year background in engineering and program management with Leidos, Lockheed Martin, RLM Systems, and the RAAF, expressed his excitement about the new role. “The chair position presents a valuable opportunity to support Defence’s engagement with industry and foster collaboration among companies, providing critical feedback and input on key initiatives and questions in the Defence sector,” said Mr. Chase.
Willox also expressed gratitude to Mr. Andy Keough, Managing Director of Saab Australia, for his outstanding leadership and service as the previous Ai Group Defence Council Chair. “Mr. Keough has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and dedication during his tenure, and we thank him for his invaluable contributions,” he said.
