About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Security Officer, this role is responsible for supporting the delivery of key protective security initiatives, for the development and application of security policies and plans and for ensuring compliance with Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) requirements. In this role you will:

  • Administer requirements as a designated DISP Security Officer and ensure compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
  • Conduct threat and risk assessments to identify and manage security risks across all security domains.
  • Manager physical security measures including electronic access control and alarm systems, security uplift activities and its integration into new facility construction.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and provide protective security and risk management advice.
  • Drive the personnel security program including managing security clearance administration activities and develop and deliver tailored security awareness training programs.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in security risk management in private sector and/or government.
  • Experience as a designated DISP Security Officer and managing DISP compliance activities and working knowledge of the PSPF, DSPF and related guidelines across security domains.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to cultivate and foster relationships across government and industry.
  • Experience managing electronic access and control systems.

Qualifications & Eligibility

To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen; and
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Negative Vetting 1 clearance or higher.
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in risk management, security management, emergency management, business continuity or similar (desirable)
